Music Ministry at Saint Bridget
The liturgical musicians’ work is to support the prayer of the people. Musicians share in this work when they offer their time and talent to support the most important prayer of the Church. The term musician applies to both vocalists and instrumentalists. The Cantors are those who provide musical leadership to the assembly during the celebration of the Eucharist through leading the sung prayer. This includes providing vocal as well as physical support to the community’s sung prayer. Together the musicians, cantors, and vocalists have the unique priviledge of being an instrument of Christ's Real Presence at such a vital faith moment.

Requirements
Formation and Training
Terms of Service - Cantors
The terms of service for music ministry are not determined in years, but rather by continued growth, faithful commitment and abiding skill. Other Liturgy Ministry at St. Bridget is carried out in three year terms, renewable once. After up to six years of service, those ministers are asked to take a Sabbath, a rest, from the work. Cantors are simply asked to let the Music Minister know if you are in need of or plan to take a Sabbath. New musicians are always welcome!
Handbook
Contact
Since the liturgical musicians’ work is to support the prayer of the people, it is called pastoral, since what a pastor does is support the people in their lives of faith. Musicians share in this work when they offer their time and talent to support the most important prayer of the Church. The term musician applies to both vocalists and instrumentalists. This Handbook is in service to both forms of musical gift.

instruments. This exciting group is celebrating its third anniversary.
The group currently consists of acoustic and bass guitars,
flutes, alto saxophones, drums and other percussion and vocalists.
We need more instrumentalists & singers! We also need a sound
technician to operate our mixer and soundboard. In addition
to warm up and Sunday Mass, musicians need to be able to read
music and to commit to a weekly hour practice. We request a
brief & low key try-out period, generally by singing or playing
with the group several times before playing at Mass. Interested?
