Music Ministry at Saint Bridget

"Psallam Spiritu et Mente"
"I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the understanding also"

Welcome to the Saint Bridget Music Ministry! This is your resource for information about parish music groups & for wedding music and program templates. Please do not hesitate to contact Music Minister Allen Bean or Music Ministry Coordinator Trish Markow with any questions you may have.

Choirs

Parish Adult Choir
This choir presents choral music & leads the liturgy at 10:30 a.m. Sunday Masses. This choir rehearses Wednesdays from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., September to June, & Sundays at 10:00 a.m. (most Sundays of the year). Parish Adult Choir is a mixed (four part) choir for adults high school aged & older. No audition is required. The ability to read music is helpful, but not a prerequisite.

Schola Cantorum
This auditioned, mixed adult choir sings at different Masses & special liturgies throughout the year. Schola Cantorum rehearses Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Membership in this choir is a prerequisite to serve as a Saint Bridget cantor. Cantors sing an average of two to four times per month.

Men’s Ministry Choir
This extension of the Saint Bridget Men’s Ministry sings a simple hymn in unison several times annually.

Contemporary Ensemble
This group of adults & teenagers play, sing & lead contemporary church music at the 5:00 p.m. Sunday Masses. This choir rehearses most Sundays at 3:15 p.m.

Latest News: The Contemporary Ensemble is looking for people of all ages with a talent for singing &/or playing instruments. This exciting group is celebrating its third anniversary. The group currently consists of acoustic & bass guitars, flutes, alto saxophones, drums & other percussion & vocalists. We need more instrumentalists & singers! We also need a sound technician to operate our mixer & soundboard. In addition to warm up & Sunday Mass, musicians need to be able to read music & to commit to a weekly hour practice. We request a brief & low key try-out period, generally by singing or playing with the group several times before playing at Mass. Interested? Contact Dan Keller.

Parish Boy & Girl Choir

Children in second to eighth grades are welcome in this choir. The Boy & Girl Choir sings twice a month, once with the Junior Choir at 9:00 a.m. & once with the Adult Choir at 10:30 a.m. Rehearsals are Thursday afternoons from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m., September to May.
