Q. What is Catholic Heart Work Camp?
A. CHWC is a week long, Catholic, service camp that operates in cities across the United States and internationally each summer. Campers range in age from Middle School to entering college, however the ages are typically skewed one way or another depending on the camp you attend (Regular Camp vs. Next Level Camp).
Q. What do we do at CHWC?
A. Hard to answer this briefly because so much great stuff happens, but here’s a typical day:
Breakfast, morning program w/ prayer or Mass, service work, lunch, service work, shower, dinner, evening program (super fun mix of high energy and spiritually impactful messages), free time, bed.
Q. What is a Next Level Camp?
A. Next Level Camps are a little older and a bit more spiritually challenging. Next Level camps are open to older campers, geared towards those who have been on a Regular Camp before, and includes daily Mass and Adoration as part of the programming each day.
Q. Is it true you sleep on the floor?
A. Yep. On air mattresses typically, but it’s part of the fun of serving and offering up a week of summer.
Q. Can I receive Community Service Hours for CHWC?
A. Yep! We can give you up to 28 hours, sometimes more:
Public School Students - Will receive 28 hours of service for work at the camp.
Private School Students - Will receive 28 hours of service for work at the camp.
Check with your school to see what else may count. Each school is different.
Catholic School Students- Will receive 28 hours of service for work at the camp. You will also receive credit for any time selling after Mass, participating in Sub-Committee and for your work at the Spaghetti Dinner and Cake Sale.
