We will begin a Novena for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 6th.  A Novena is nine days of prayer for special need or intention. The Assumption is an important feast in the Church. It instructs us on one of the important Marian Dogmas and it is an important feast to honor the Blessed Virgin. The Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary is celebrated every year on August 15th. This feast commemorates the assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, body and soul, into Heaven. Our July Food Drive will be held on the 29th of July in front of Saint Bridget between 8:45 and 11:00am! Please prayefully consider helping others have enough food to eat! Our July food drive will restock the food pantry at Commonwealth Catholic Charities which provides food to many needy in the community. See their list of desired items below. Gift cards from Kroger or Walmart are welcome, as are checks made out to CCC. Please donate school supplies for children at local schools. Mark your calendar! We are so excited about “Where are You God? Learning the Language of Prayer” -- a series of talks by Scott Campolongo. These talks about prayer will be geared toward families praying together. The series begins with the first session on Thursday, July 20th, and will be held on three consecutive Thursdays; July 20th, 27th, and August 3rd from 7-8pm in the Church Hall.
