Fourth Sunday in Advent and Christmas Mass Schedule 2017 Fourth Sunday in Advent Saturday, December 23rd: 5:30 p.m. Sunday, December 24th: 7:30am, 9am, 11am Christmas: Nativity of Our Lord Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24th: 6pm, 8pm, 10:30pm Christmas Day, Monday, December 25th: 7:30am, 9am, 11am Catholics are obliged to attend Mass for the Fourth Sunday in Advent and to attend Mass for Christmas. Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception will take place on Friday, December 8th at7am, 9am, Noon, and 5:30pm  Note: The 9am Mass will be attended by Students form Saint Bridget School.  This Solemnity celebrates the Conception of Mary, Mother of Jesus and that in her conception she was free from the effects of Original Sin. It is often erroneously assumed that we are celebrating Mary's conception of Jesus, which is recognized on March 25th with the Feast of the Annunciation. Bishop-designate Barry C. Knestout On the morning of, Dec. 5, 2017, our Holy Father, Pope Francis, named the Most Reverend Barry C. Knestout, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington, to serve as the Catholic Diocese of Richmond’s 13th bishop. His Mass of Installation will be celebrated Friday, January 12, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond.
