Making Your Annual Parish Stewardship Pledge

Annual Parish Stewardship Appeal

Every parishioner is asked to make an offertory pledge during the Annual Parish Stewardship Appeal. Your financial support for Saint Bridget Church is critically important to ensure that our parish is financially stable and has the resources needed to support the many ministries and outreach of our parish. Offertory giving is an obligation of all parishioners, and is a way to give back a portion of what we have been given by God.  Please make a pledge that is generous and reflects His blessings on you.

Furthermore, a Financial Annual Report and Year-End Charitable Contribution Statements are mailed to each parishioner every year, which you can view here.

Our Director of Stewardship, Kimberly Lapkin, is available to help you with any stewardship questions or matters at Saint Bridget Catholic Church.

Offering Envelopes

Offering Envelope Packets are sent every other month.  If you do not use Online Giving, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of these bi-monthly reminders to give back to Saint Bridget Church.  Your packet includes weekly contribution envelopes and envelopes for special collections. Envelopes for special parish funds are also in the packet.  Regular use of contribution envelopes for cash and check donations ensures that the Statements of Contribution are accurate.

Statements of Contribution

Saint Bridget Church mails year-end Statements of Contribution itemizing charitable contributions for tax purposes. Interim statements are also sent quarterly.

Gift of Appreciated Securities

Gifts of appreciated securities are always welcome.  Please check with your tax advisors to determine if a gift of appreciated securities is appropriate for you. Contact Kimberly Lapkin for more information about giving gifts of stock at (804) 525-7888.

Financial Stewardship Integrity

Responsible stewardship demands that the weekly gifts from the faithful be given appropriate consideration as the parish’s most vulnerable financial asset. Weekly offertory, which represents the monetary lifeblood of the Saint Bridget Church community, is collected, properly safeguarded, counted, deposited and recorded.

Saint Bridget Church has a sound internal control structure with an equally important and active monitoring system to make sure required controls are in place and functioning.

A Message from Monsignor Carr

Each year during our Annual Parish Stewardship Appeal I ask for you to prayerfully and thoughtfully consider your annual contribution pledge and to decide upon a financial commitment that you know will be pleasing to God. With your steady and generous support we are able to answer God’s call and carry out His will.  I trust that you share with me a deep sense of satisfaction knowing that all we accomplish in our parish and in our community is to the praise of and glory of our Lord.  You have heard the Gospel message of sacrifice and giving; you have recognized the needs of our church and our community; you have responded with love to what our Heavenly Father asks . . . that we return to Him a meaningful measure of what He has blessed and entrusted to us.

Please know that I pray that our Heavenly Father will continue His many blessing upon you.

Reverend Monsignor William H. Carr, Pastor
