What is the Virginia Catholic Youth Day?
Known as an ongoing tradition in the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, the Catholic youth of our Diocese gather at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg to join in community and fellowship. The day includes admission to the park all day long, Sunday Vigil Mass, and dinner as a Diocese.
What is the schedule for the day?
10:00am Busch Gardens opens, pick-up tickets near the front entrance
12:00pm Ticket pickup ends
3:15pm Celebration of Sunday Vigil Mass at Abbey Stone Theatre at Busch Gardens
5:30pm Diocesan all-you-can eat dinner buffet at the Black Forest Pavilion opens
6:30pm Diocesan dinner buffet closes
12:00am Busch Gardens closes (note: Howl-O-Scream event starts at 6:00 pm)
Who should attend the Virginia Catholic Youth Day?
This day trip is open to sixth through twelfth graders, and their parents.
What are some of the logistics for me to be aware of?
Saint Bridget will purchase all tickets for the event, unless you have a Season Pass (in which case, let Dan know in your RSVP email).
All tickets will be picked up onsite on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Busch Gardens at the tram drop off location.
All individuals who purchase tickets for the all-you-can-eat dinner will have a wrist band. The wrist band will get individuals into the all-you-can eat dinner.
Howl-O-Scream begins around 6:00 pm and may not be suitable for children under the age of 13.
The all-you-can eat dinner includes Pulled Pork BBQ, Chicken Fajita Wraps, Mixed Green Salad, Macaroni & Cheese, Dessert, Soft Drinks. There are vegetarian and gluten-free options available for those who request it in advance.
What are the costs?
It only costs one flat rate of $50 to attend this day-trip to Busch Gardens. Please drop off your payment in the form of either cash or check, to the Parish Office, by September 30th.
How do I register and when is the registration deadline?
To register, simply email your plan to attend (along with who, specifically is attending) to Dan Harms at email@example.com by September 30th.
Any individual can enter the park without purchasing tickets through the Diocese. In addition, the Sunday Vigil Mass does NOT require ticketing or a cost.
There is a $5 late fee per ticket purchased after Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11:59pm. We will not take purchases over the phone or email; they must be processed using the online system.
There are no refunds for cancellations.
There is no fee for substitutions.
